Close to the village Planitero, within a plane-tree forest, Aroanios springs out. It is formed in the area of the villages Planitero and Arbouna, by swallow-hole waters that reach the plain of the Feneos. It is enriched by the currents Lagada and Haliki, and it runs in a southward direction until meeting up with the river Ladonas. Its length is 10km.

The location is also known for the trout fishery.
