The Pausanias Vine
The Pausanias Vine consists of enormous vine trunks that stretch across trees (holm oaks) within the grounds of the Church of Saint Nicholas in the village of Pagrati, in the Municipality of Kalavryta, located on the border between the Achaia and Arcadia regions.
The Pausanias Vine is an important natural monument of the area. It was named after the ancient historian Pausanias, who visited the region and described the vine as a remarkable phenomenon in his work Arcadica.
The vine is estimated to be around 3,000 years old, and its length reaches up to 100 meters.
