Planitero

Near the village of Planitero, within a plane tree forest, the Aroanios River springs.

It is formed in the area of the villages Planitero and Armpouna from waters of the Feneos basin that reach this point through sinkholes. It is fed by the smaller streams Lagkada and Chaliki and flows southward until it meets the Ladon River. Its length is approximately 10 kilometers.

The area is also known for its trout farm–fish hatchery.

The springs of the Aroanios River in the village of Planitero, together with the forest and the option to enjoy a meal, are just some of the attractive features that make it well worth a visit.
